MOD Files
I am trying to import files into Vegas from a Hard Drive Camera. These files are “MOD” files which I am not really familiar with.
I get going on them and all of the sudden it says,”An Error has occurred” and it shuts down Vegas.
I thought is was just a bad file, but if I try to reimport that file (that caused it to crash) in a brand new Vegas project, it is fine.
It seems like it is happening around the 2 hour mark..once I get 2 hours imported, it crashes. Any ideas?

I believe that .MOD files are JVC’s way of being different for no apparent reason and they are actually just MPEG2 files. Try renaming them to .MPG and see if that works (i.e., copy the file from the camera to your PC hard drive and rename it).
