Hi chaps – am I being a total idiot ? I need to render out something as a qtime MJPEG (either A or B) and there doesn’t seem to be an option in the render output. I have been told that “…everyone has the mjpeg codec…” is it possible that I have deleted it or something ? Many thanks for taking the time. Roger

Are you using the render queue by using composition>make movie, or composition>add to render queue? If not, you should.

Thanks Steve – as I always have ‘add to render queue’ (BTW what is ‘Make movie’) ?. Anyway, by the way you posed your question are you suggesting that I should have MJPEG and that I’m possibly rendering the wrong way ? Thanks for taking the time – Roger

“Composition>make movie” adds your selected comp to the render queue using the default Render Settings and Output Module. To be honest, I haven’t found a difference between that and “add to Render Queue”. Anybody?

I was thinking you might have been using File>Export, which wouldn’t give you the choice of any Quicktime codecs, and MJPEG-A is one of those.

You can find MJPEG-A if you choose one of the options I recommended then go into the Output Module, make sure Quicktime is selected, then under “options”, look for the MJPEG-A codec.

Thanks again Steve – if it’s of any interest you have to turn on “Show legacy Components” in quicktime pro (maybe it was disabled in the new QT ! go figure. Anyway hope it helps someone else – best Roger
