    Hello,

I’ve recently switched to Premiere from FCP.

I have a short film project that was shot in Prores (HQ)
we’ve expanded into a feature and shot the rest in FS7 – Xavci codec (1080p)

I’ve imported xavci footages into the Pro res timeline, it seems to be working relatively fine.

I have yet to cut a feature using/mixing different formats on codec in Premiere.
Do you think it’s a good idea to cut it natively without having to transcode everything into Pro res?
Has anyone tried cutting a feature mixed media formats ?
    any problems?

    Thank you!

    Yong

i think you should be ok, its the Xavc-S that is wreaking havoc not the -I as -S is long GOP and -I is intraframe.
I can’t believe they’re that different, but long GOP always breaks adobe!(ie transcoding…sigh…)
