I have a variety of footage I have to mix together.

    XDCAM 1080P footage and
DVCAM interlaced (I’m not sure the size) But it is 16:9

As it is for internet viewing I would like to edit and output in progressive. How should I go about converting the DVCAM footage that I will receive on DVDs. to a progressive format?

    Thanks

    Hi Anthony,
Edit the footage together in a Progressive sequence and drop a de-interlacer in the interlaced clips.
    Avoid the FC default de-interlacer.

To keep the highest quality, you could edit in a 1080i sequence and have the 480i footage unconverted to 1080i. Then, simply export and use compressor to convert for the web. It does the deinterlacing.

But that would be overkill if the final is ONLY for the web. You could skip the upconvert and edit in a 480i anamorphic sequence and then export that to compressor.

    Thanks for the replies.
If not the FCP one what do you recommend?

    Thanks

    Nattress or FieldsKit.
    Both works in 10b.
