    Hi

We are a multimedia live band <https://www.schaltkreiswassermann.com>. We have our visuals in DV PAL format and I made a DV PAL movie out of them, already synced to the music. Then I have a live video of our performance in HD 1280×720 .

How do I combine them? What’s the best target format? What settings do I use in FCP?

I think I should aim at 1280×720 format and convert the whole DV PAL visuals but I’ll probably lose too much quality (and I don’t know how to do it).

Sorry about asking these stupid questions – don’t shoot the guitarist!

Oh, I just saw that somebody else asked the same question.

I blew up my 4:3 material to 16:9 (1280×720) and it doesn’t look bad.

I used the Apple ProRes (HQ) for the sequence.

What’s the correct audio rate: 44.1 or 48kHz?

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks. Seems like I’m on the right track.

Is it possible to make standard DVDs with 1280×720 material?

Yes. Just use Compressors presets for DVDs and you will be fine.
