I’m working on a project that uses both HDV and HDCAM (both 24p). I haven’t worked much with either format. What’s the best way to combine them (using an older version of Media Composer)? Or is it not really an issue? It will eventually be broadcast in HD.

    Thanks!

How much older? What version of MC?

And how will you capture these? Because you can capture them as the same format with capture hardware. There is no firewire capture for HDCAM, you need capture hardware. And since they are both HD formats, broadcasting in HD isn’t an issue.

    It’s version 2.8

They will actually already be captured, but since I haven’t really worked with these formats before, I wasn’t sure if it would be an issue or not.

Then it would be good to find out how they are being captured by the person/place doing the capturing. And telling them that you need to be able to work with them with MC2.8. If they capture both to the same DNxHD format, it should be fine.

Okay that’s what I was hoping.

    Thanks!
