    Hi Guys

Here is one for you…. Need to edit 720 50p footage shot on a HM100 JVC with DV 16:9 footage shot on a SONY z5

I have worked out that when using the PRORES 422 HQ timeline you can combine the two…. No probs, but will it cause a problem when I export DV and Progressive inn the end….. ???

Do you advise perhaps conforming the 720p before editing with DV

    Any advice will help thnx

    William

What is the ratio of 720p to DV source footage and what is the intended delivery format. Mixing progressive and interlaced footage is never especially pretty, but if the majority of the footage is DV and you are intending to deliver as DV then you can convert the 720p50 footage to 50i first so as to maintain the temporal consistency of the footage (although of course you are inevitably throwing away resolution in the process). But if the majority of the footage is 720p and you want to end up with an HD master then you’ll need to edit in a 720p50 sequence and to de-interlace and upscale the DV footage to fit.
