we have a project filmed primarily in 24p, into which we would like to incorporate some 29.97 broll. Though we realize it technically works best to convert all footage to 29.97, we like the look of 24p better than 29.97. Conforming with Cinema tools helps with fast pan stutters a bit, but not to our expectations. We’ll have quite a few more projects up ahead like this – what would you suggest?

Not incorporating 29.97 if you can help it. If you can’t help it, If you have the money, go to a post facility that has a TERRANEX and have them convert the footage for you. If not, Cinema Tools to CONFORM…meaning “SLOW DOWN 30 frames to play all the same frames, but at 24fps” is the 2nd best method. If you want to play it in real time, using Compressor to convert to 23.98…turning on the FRAME CONTROLS and setting everything to BEST is the third best option.
