I am trying to understand how to mix 2 videos on one track.
How is this done, so all both fit together without any editing of the soundtrack?

    Thanks
    John

You will have to explain more about what you are doing. Do you want both videos to play at the same time? or one after the other? If at the same time, what do you hope to see as the final result? If it’s a blend of the two then you need to use two tracks and set the opacity of the top video event to 50% so you see a little of both.

Video 1 one is a person speaking
Then it cuts to a demo of google rankings video 2
Then cuts back to video 1 of person speaking
All within the 1 sound track of video 1

Use the ‘S‘ key to split the first video at the point that you want to second video to play. Then move the right half of the first video over to make room for the second video and drop the second video into the whole that you just made in the track. You can trim the ends of the video by clicking and dragging to make them smaller or longer and get just the section you want to play.

…of course you’ll also need to UNGROUP the Sound and Video tracks of Video 1.

Click on the Video 1 Event and then click ‘U’ – or right click and choose Group / Remove From…

That way when you use the ‘S’ command on the Video Track – the audio track will remain untouched….

Oh yea, good point. If you want the audio for the first video to play while the second is being shown you must ungroup the video and audio first.

Even easier is to put talking head video with sundtrack bottom and put the google stuff on a track above it and trim it for when you want it to appear.
