Mixer question
I’m using a Yamaha MG102c with a variety of mics, SM57s, a Rode NT3,and a couple of Azden shotguns. I’ve got a wye from the REC OUT ports to the Mic In port of a pc running Audition. I’ve got the gain and levels set on the mixer so that my record levels are fine in Audition. However, if I plug my headphones into the PHONES port on the mixer, I can barely hear anything, and turning gain all the way up does little. I’m having to monitor through the PC’s headphone jack.

It is. I can also increase gain to the max as well as the Level Control for any channel, and the Level meter will barely flicker on the -20 Led.

I’ve just tested with one mic on one channel with gain maxed out and level maxed out. Barely a flicker on the meter. Not a lot of room for operator error in that sense scenario. Looks like I have to deal with Yamaha support.
