Were doing a variety of sound recordings into a Betacam Camera and perhaps the Panasonic HVX200.
We are using Sienheiser shotgun and the Radio mikes, evolution series.
We are shoting docos and theatre videos
What portable mixer would you recommend.
We seem to have problems plugging into the board sometimes.
    Any clues appreciated
    Thanks
    Peter

My favorite is the Sound Devices 302 (3 input, 2 out about $1300) It is very clean, simple to operate and compact

I also like the Sound Devices 442 (4-input. 4 direct out about $2500) If you need more inputs

Shure FP-33 (3 input, 2 out about $1400) Used to be the ENG standard until the 302 came along.

Other excellent brands – Cooper, Wendt, PSC, Sony

The less expensive brands (Rolls, Samson, Kamesan) are fine for less critical applications where preamp noise and durability is not as much of an issue.

Add the SignVideo ENG-44 to the list. 4 channel. Less than $600.

Not an SD 442 by any means, but the basic stuff is there.
