Mixed video project: XDCAM and HDV
I have a project that is 90% XDCAM video (1920×1080 25 fps progressive) and 10% HDV (1440×1080 29.970 fps interlaced). My project template is “HD 1080-50i (1920×1080, 25.000 fps)”. My render template is “Blu-ray 1920×1080-50i”.
The XDCAM portions look great, while the HDV portions are a mess. What should I do? Are there any settings or workarounds in Sony Vegas 10 to deal with such mixed video projects?
Or should I convert my HDV video to 1920×1080, 25.000 fps before importing in the project? If so, can you recommend tools or tutorials to use?
I’ve tried DVFilm Atlantis but the result was not very good. (They say on their website: “NTSC to PAL conversion only work with lower-field first”. And my HDV video is top-field-first – maybe this is the problem.) I also tried VirtualDub/Avisynth/MVTools but couldn’t find a decent avs script to work in this case.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
