Mixed outdoor and indoor in the same shot
Hi
I’m gonna have to shoot a scene where a character walks on the street in daylight and inside one of the houses, with the door open, you should see some action from the outside perspective.
I’m thinking in using some mirrors to reflect the sunlight inside the house (the final location is not defined yet) and I don’t want to put a very powerful illumination inside the house if I can avoid it.

It’s less about power than control. A sun bounce means you’re having to move the mirror the entire time to track the sun, heck you may wind up needing two mirrors, and what that does is turn your big, soft, broad source into the equivalent of a blowtorch-like unscreened 1K Sun Gun. And you can’t control the weather. A 1-k tungsten with cc gel, bounced into an interior wall/ceiling intersection out of frame may be all you really need for this shot. Not expensive or complicated to set up. The sun bounce sounds way more Rube Goldberg to me.

My fear is that the indoor light will not be enough against the sunlight. I’m not sure I can do a test before the day of the shoot, but I can program the time so the shooting late in the day when the sun is going low.
