I’m cutting a program shot in DVC Pro50. To get extenal monitor playback, I have a DV deck (DSR-40) hooked to the system. But, I can’t seem to get media to play back on the external NTSC monitor AND in FCP when the deck is recognized. With the deck selected, media plays back on the NTSC monitor but not in the FCP windows. When the external NTSC monitor is unselected, then I have media playback in the FCP windows, but of course I lose the use of the NTSC monitor. Is this some kind of incompatibility between the DV deck and the fact that FCP knows I’m working in DVC Pro50?
As a side note, I have no problem with simultaneous internal and external playback on my other system that has an AJA card installed.
Thanks for any work arounds you can suggest.

It’s an incompatibility problem alright. The reason that it works on the other system is the card installed…it’s capable of displaying DVCPRO50 natively. Actually, I’m surprised you can get it to work at all…
