I have read that it is possible to mix codecs on a Blu-Ray title…
so you can have MPEG-2, H.264/AVC, and SMPTE VC-1 content on the same disc.

Is the same true of HD-DVD?

    Thanks in advance.

Thats correct. Both HD DVD and BluRay support multiple codecs on the same disc. However, this may only be possible with Advanced Content HD DVD or BD-J authoring tools. Prosumer tools like DVDit Pro or DVDSP might have some restrictions here – I don’t know i’ve haven’t done much testing with these tools but the HD DVD and Blu Ray specs do carry it.
