misunderstandings about calibration
Hi to all,
I’m Michele, I recently started working as an assistant in a post production service.
I don’t understand some things about color management and I wonder what is the correct workflow to calibrate a broadcast LCD monitor with this setup:
Mac Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2x 2,66 ghz
AJA Kona3
Monitor LCD BON BLM-basic240 connected via SDI

Start here:
If that is beyond you, hire someone. Which you should anyway…get a pro in there with a pro scope to calibrate the monitors. I do that every 6 months or so.

I have already made monitor calibration with bars but I wonder if I can do better with the color sensitometer i1pro and understand if I can or not and why.

Are you trained on how to use it and calibrate monitors? If not, hire someone who is. This complete “do-it-yourself” mentality has a line you can’t cross. Certain things should be left to people who are experts in their field.
