    Hello,

I’ve imported footage, MP4s from Sony a7s II, and transcoded optimized media and that’s all good and fine.

The last step is to synch the audio to some of the clips. The audio is timecoded but none of the clips are. These clips were transcoded when I initially imported them but since fixing the missing proxy issue ( see this post: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/344/52786 ), the timecodes have disappeared

Is there a reason why this would have happened? There are extra documents packaged with the footage ( like MEDIAPRO.XML ) that seem to contain the kind of data I might need to make this work but I’m still new to FPCX and I’m at a loss.

Any help would be much appreciated,
    O

Sounds to me as if the files weren’t imported FROM THE CAMERA, in which case that kind of data can/will get lost for lack of reference to said sidecar file, yes. Which is why you *always* want to import from either the camera directly or from an archive of the card/disk.

Ugh, that’s bad news. Luckily there isn’t that much synched audio but it’s still a pain. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
