I am having trouble on a current edit. I shot the documentary on a sony ex1 camera and it stores the files in a BPAV folder. However i am adeiting on an avid liquid which requires me to recode the files as mxf before i can import them into avid liquid.

This i have done using the sony clip browser that comes with the ex1 camera.

However the timecode that is assigned to the mxf clips i have imported into liquid edition is not the same as the timecode that i recorded the footage with. Somewhere along the line a new timecode was generated for my footage and the proper one was disgarded. Is this how MXF works? or is there a setting in avid liquid that will display the correct timecode?

I’m guessing you’d have better luck getting an answer to your question in an Avid forum.
