    I’m working on a project at home, still important. I was clearing out some space on my G-RAID and deleted footage from a project that I thought was a duplicate. However there were about 27 clips that should have not been in there and were deleted. I reloaded from my HV20, but the missing media in the project won’t reconnect with any of the clips. I get a message “* missing” when I try to manually connect them. Is there a process (other than not throwing the stuff out in the first place) that I’ve missed or another solution?

    HV20=tape based MiniDV right?

    Did you delete the media but still have the original tapes?

    If so, are the clips in your project as offline media with red slashes?

    Another question, did you Batch Capture these clips off the tape? Good timecode on your tape. I hope.

    If so, insert the original tape, you can highlight all the offline media>right click Batch Capture.

    This will work seamless if you Logged your footage correctly.

    Yes, HV20 = HDV. The clips are off line, but after my post I checked and the off line clips were in Pro Res 422, the newly recaptured footage was HDV. So I did manage to locate a backup with at least some of the missing footage on another drive. I’ve been able to reconnect but only manually and by selecting “all files”. Anything else and the files are grayed out. I’m going to recheck tonight to see if everything still synch’s up. But I wasn’t able to reconnect the off line media that I had renamed through FCP.
