  • Missing HDV Codec?

    Hello Everyone,

I am in the middle of putting together some edits using FCP 5. Some of the footage is HDV and some is 8bit uncompressed captured via a cinewave card. I originally captured the HDV stuff at home to a firewire drive, and the uncompressed at work to the same drive. Anyway I am now at home and even though I have FCP HD5 installed and as I said I captured that same footage here, I can’t see it. If I use easy set up and choose HDV and then proceed to create a new program and open it I get a codec not found error message. So what has happened to it and does this require a reinstall? I have just installed the 4.5 cinewave codec and I can see my uncompressed footage fine-BTW I couldn’t see either before so the install of that can’t have affected my HDV codec.

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks in advance
