I’ve recently upgraded my system from OSX 10.3.9 to 10.4.5. I cannot capture footage from my Sony deck in FCP 4.5.

The footage doesn’t appear in the preview screen of the log and capture window. Although I can log timecodes when I go to capture all I get is a black screen (even though the footage is playing on the deck screen). I’ve also hooked up my Sony HD camera and the same also happens.

Anyone have any ideas? I have an urgent job that is looking very doubtful now

    Many thanks FCPers!

Try restarting and going into an easy set-up. Even if you haven’t changed anything, I have had the problem you are talking about and that fixed it. Worth a quick try anyway. Good Luck.
