    Hello Everyone,

I’ve noticed filters such as “glow”,” smooth cam”, and “bad tv” no longer appear on my computer. I have the latest version of Final Cut Studio 2; have my effect availability set to all, and have reinstalled various times.

I have a modified G4 (1.7 dual processor upgrade, 1.5 gigs of ram, and a modified GeForce 7800 GT graphics card). I know the graphic card is not part of the minimum system requirments (the 7600 GT is, the 7800 is the next card up) Prior to an upgrade to 6.02 all my effects worked fine. Does anyone know how to get these effects running again on my system?

I’m going to guess that you have these filters installed only in the plug-ins folder of your PREVIOUS VERSION of FCP, and have not copied them into the plug-ins folder of your newest FCP.

Wouldnt that apply if I upgraded from version 5 to 6? When I upgraded from 6.0 to 6.1 all the corresponding effects transfered. I noticed the change when I upgraded the os to 10.4.11 and FCP to 6.02. Has no one else run into this issue on G4’s?

I am having this same problem on both my computers. One is a G5 running Tiger and the other is an Intel Mac running Leopard. The filter I’m having the problem with is Soft Focus, but I think it’s still in this same group of filters.

About a week ago, Soft Focus and a number of other filters disappeared on both computers. We talked to Apple, who recommended reinstalling Final Cut. We had to do it twice on both machines because Compressor wouldn’t work after the first install. Filters came back, but are now missing on the 2nd machine. (They seem to be on the hard drive, but Final Cut isn’t seeing them.) The other computer is recognizing the Soft Focus filter, but is crashing every time I try to render out a sequence which includes it.
