Missing Data Error?
Posted by Randall Murphy on September 13, 2007 at 8:19 pmI’ve got a project I’ve been working on and nothing has been deleted. Now, when I try to open it, is has a missing data error. Any way to fix this? Now a file missing, but data error.

September 13, 2007 at 8:33 pmSo. What happens when you click the AE icon? Does the project open at all?

September 13, 2007 at 8:35 pmAE opens up and then the error, so it never opens the file. I had a system crash while the program was open, and I think that killed it. Dunno if there’s any way to recover.

September 13, 2007 at 8:55 pmCan you open other AEP files?
If not, then you have to reinstall AE.

September 13, 2007 at 10:35 pmYes, other files are fine. I just got a new graphics card and it has a mind of its own and shuts off while the computer is on. Therefore, have to reset the computer…I think this killed it…it really sucks but oh well. Backup, backup backup.

September 14, 2007 at 12:20 pmIt sounds as if the one project is corrupt. Try importing the project, rather than opening it.
You do save incrementally, no? 🙂

September 14, 2007 at 3:16 pmGood suggestion, unfortunately didn’t work. Saving, yes, good idea. Funny thing was the day before it died, I thought, you know, I ought to save this. That’s what happens when you get TOO busy. The good thing is I rendered it out…not all the way finished but workable. Just can’t change anything.
