    Hi all.

Wondering if you can offer me some suggestions.

I just finished an eight minute video in FCP. The entire video is a jumpback background and animated graphics in the form of QT movies with alpha channels, some stills from Photoshop and transitions added to each clip. I kept the project in FCP because I need to time the graphics to a VO.

The render times nearly killed me.

I now have another video just like it to produce. Can you offer some suggestions to reduce my render times? Is there a differnt format I can render my After Effects movies in? I’m currently using the animation codec.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Not particularly…. Ani+alpha is slow to render… you can adjust settings in FCP for rough-renders to make sure it’s looking OK – like Fast/Liner motion rendering, 75% resoltion, and 50% timebase. And then render overnight for high res…

short of buying a faster computer there’s not much you can do.

    Thanks Charlie.

Would you recommend Motion over After Effects? I’m I dealing with the same type of render issues with Motion? I don’t know the program very well, but I’m giving myself a crash course now.

    Thanks for the help
