    Hi,

    Trying to install FCP 6 on my Powerbook G4 and am having trouble following the directions for the minimum system requirements hack. I cannot for the life of me find the “6 occurences of “minsys.plist” I would really appreciate if someone could guide me to the exact file/folder location of minsys.plist as I cannot find it.

    I’ve been following these directions:

    To install:
    ===========
    – mount the “Final Cut Studio” disk
    – right-click the alias “Install Final Cut Studio” to show original
    – on your HD, drag & drop “FinalCutStudio.mpkg” + “Packages” in the same folder on your HD (to be able to make modifications)
    – find the 6 occurences of “minsys.plist”
    – modify all these 6 with TextEdit. Examples:
    AELMinimumCPUSMP + AELMinimumCPUSpeedSingle = 500 replaced with 1
    (make all changes required by your config: CPU, RAM, …)

    Thanks,
    Alexander

    WHich Powerbook G4? FCP 6 installed fine on my 1.67Mhz. No hack needed.

    What happens when you try to install normally?

    my Powerbook is 867 mhz, FCP 6 requires 1.25ghz. I need to install FCP 6 just to check a file, not going to do heavy editing work. Thanks.

    Doesn’t allow me to install because my system doesn’t meet the min. requirements.

    I am in the same boat. Have you got this to work yet?

    I guess nobody has done this. Everyone just wants to offer advice why I shouldn’t do it.
