They give the same minimum specs on the Kona 2 as well, but we’re only running Dual 2.0’s in both of our suites and they handle Uncompressed SD and HD just fine. Obviously, the faster the processor the better, but Dual 2.0’s work fine.

I run my Fibre Channel card in Slot 4 and the Kona 2 in Slot 3 which gives the maximum throughput for the media.

Thanks fo the input. I want to swap out my Cinewave card and am in a quandry about what to get (LS or LH)…What is your opinion about the RT acceleration?…Is it noticable?…What are the pros and cons? Thanks in advance…

the 4G card requires the 4 slot for proper performance.

I made the swap from CineWave over a year ago. The K2 is what I wanted due to the SD to HD Up-convert which I really use a lot these days. RT acceleration really comes from having very fast drives on your system. The Kona cards do some “lifting” for the CPU to help accelerate certain functions, but you still need to have very fast drives to make it all work with the most RT.
