    MiniDV tapes 63 vs. 83 minutes

    So far I’ve been using the Panasonic professional master (AY-DVM63MQ) 63 minute tapes and have been quite happy with them. For my shoots, it would be beneficial for me to use longer tapes, like the 83 minute professional master. However, I’ve heard some mixed reviews on the 83 minute tapes. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks

    I’d advise against as they are more prone to fail but ok if you have no other choice. I’d rather change tapes after 63 than risk 83 for a possible extra 20. Dig?

    Thanks Noah. This seems to be what most people are saying. So I’ll stick to the 63’s.
