MiniDV Tape into FCPX
Can I import footage from a MiniDV cam tape from the camera to FCPX using the HDMI output from the camera going through a HDMI-to-Thunderbolt adapter to my Mac? Or do I have to use the cameras Firewire output to a Firewire-to-Thunderbolt adaptor?

I’d do the import with the thunderbolt to firewire adapter. You get transport control over fire wire which will be useful once you get in the thick of transfers.
