  • Mini-DVD Tape Playing with Noise?

I have a lot of old Mini-DV tapes I am pulling clips off of, but I am using a different camera with which to capture (original camcorder is retired). There is pixel noise all over then, even after I have ran a cleaning tape through the camera and forwarded and rewound to help realign the tapes to the heads. What can I do to successfully capture from these tapes?

Cameras are not the best playback decks. If you can hire or borrow a DSR 1500 or similar with lowish head hours, you might get a better result. Many if the HDV decks will also playback DV.

I am now using a Panasonic AJ-SD93 deck and it is still getting some of the visual noise on some of the tapes.
Still looking for answers on this now that I;m having problems with the deck.
It is a multi-use deck so I am using a carousel to slide the tape into the deck—but it is meant to do this.
