Mini Converter Question
If I get a SDI to HDMI mini converter, can I use it as just a SDI Audio de-embedder? Will the sound still work even if nothing is plugged into the HDMI port?

I would assume that the answer is YES to this, as this is how all other converters work (all outputs active, weather you use them or not). And at $495 retail, (and it will be cheaper mail order), this is a damn good price.

Hi Sean,
This is correct. The audio output will still work even nothing is plugged into the HDMI output port.
