Migrate shape contents to another shape layer
Hello,
I’m working in an After Effects project file where the previous animator animated a grid using 40+ individual shape layers (one for each of the grid’s lines), and the same amount of shape layers for masks (each line-layer being set to Alpha Matte). All of them keyframed individually. It won’t surprise you that this is a mess to work in, and I want to make things a little easier for myself by combining all the grid-lines into one single shape layer.
I was wondering if there was an easy way to ‘migrate’ one layer’s “Contents” to another shape layer. Dragging them over doesn’t seem to work. At the moment what I found working was to copy a layer’s contents over, but then I also have to copy and paste this layer’s Transform properties afterwards, since these aren’t retained. Am I missing something, or do I have to commit to copying all these layers by hand?
Thanks in advance! Any help is much appreciated.
