Midi/hardware controller for AE?
Hi, I’ve been scouring the web for some information about connecting my control surfaces (mackie control, Novation remote etc) to After Effects. I have come up with nothing. I get that for the normal scrub back and forth I’d rahter use premiere but that’s not what I want to do, I wish to effect animations with my hardware sliders/faders/knobs and whatnot. Just to be able to tweak the blue channel and the red at the same time would be awesome.
I’m thinking “well if I add sliders here, here and here, and connect to this, this and this fader” and there you go, a multi touch tweak-deluxe. I’m sure people have thought about this long before me, so, anybody know of a app or “FX” that could be added so I can tweak to my hart’s content?

Thanks Steve, I thought I searched the whole creative cow but not so, not so.
Although by that conversation it seems impossible to achieve.
Hope that is not the case.

My solution, as I am doing this myself, is to create an audio track and automate the volume using a midi controller. Then bring the audio track into the comp and sync the chosen expression to the audio track volume.
Unfortunately this will not provide any level of live control, but if planned out correctly, can be affective and certainly be more organic than mathematical or random expressions.
