MIDI, what is that and what it eats in winter?
First of all, Sorry for my bad english, but I hope that you will understand me.
Hey evryone, tottaly newbie in this forum.
So im working as Light operator.
It always financial problems in place I work for buying one normal bigger and much better light controler. So today I was playing with Martin freekie(dunno why we have it at all), and I manage to connect 4 Clay Paky Alpha Spot 300(moving heads) to it. I can make and run proper show, but then there is midi option, as far as I know its somthing about PC, right? 🙂Can you pleas tell me what exactly are midi and how to operate with PC?
Have never used PC for lights, only my hands.
I know what is grandMA, and Im waiting for lessons and for MA controleer, but it will take like 2years while I get somthing from that. Just wanted to know, Can I do somthing with this system? -

MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, and has been adopted by the lighting industry as a live events standard. To control fixtures, you need some sort of show controller software. Here’s some info and a list of software:
