  Mid-range Laptop Recommendations for Media Composer

  Hi Folks,

  I’m looking for laptop recommendations for my students who are running MC 2018 or later. They’re mostly cutting 1080p HD but importantly it needs to be an affordable laptop so many of the AVID certified laptops are out of their price range. With CoVid n’all they need something useful at home when they can’t be in College every day (due to physical distancing restriction here in Ireland).

  Acknowledging that only 2 of the laptops on the above list are AVID Qualified (according to this AVID list http://resources.avid.com/SupportFiles/attach/README_Avid_Editor_v19.12.pdf) and short of getting one of each of these machines and testing them myself, I am just wondering if anyone has any experience of using any of these laptops with Media Composer and can recommend (or otherwise) any of them?
