Musicansfriend.com has resonably priced mics, a Shure SM57 or SM58, in the neighborhood of $100

Radio Shack has a lavalier mic for about $40…works for me.

Get a Studio Projects “C” series if you can spend around $200.0 (US), or if money is an issue go for the “B” series. Great mics for a very good price. Remember HD/SD is only as good as the audio that goes with it!

I spent $150 at the Guitar Center. I got a cardioid mic, a stand, a preamp and a pop filter. Works great.
