MicroNet sancube for FCP editing
Posted by Max Rule on August 11, 2005 at 12:41 pmI would be very interested in any information regarding using SanCube with FCP. On the surface it looks like a viable system.
Any info would be appreciated.

It does seem to have a few warts in the software department.
Is there anything out there that is comparable in it’s price range?
Can we as editors, hook up 3 FCP stations and get san connectivity for around 8K????

What Jeff Bernstein is saying is that the SAN Cube is great for losing data, and not knowing when you’ll lose it. Basically the thing is a P.O.S.
The most cost effective solution I can think of is Studio Network Solutions iSANmp, its all done over ethernet so there are not any expensive cables to buy and they have bundled the whole thing around how many users you what to set up in groups of 2. (i.e.2,4,6,8). It starts at 2 users w/ 1.6TB for $6,999.99. A much better solution than the SAN cube.
Hope this helps,
