  • Microboards BluRay Duplicator Won’t Burn SD DVDs

We just bought a microboards BluRay duplicator. It won’t duplicate SD DVDs. Microboards just told us that their best guess as to why is that the Toshiba SD burner that the originals came from must need a firmware upgrade. Does this make sense? Does anyone have opinions about Microboards BluRay burners, or recommendations for other brands? Thanks.

I have a duplicator from ILY Enterprises with 8 LG Super Multi Blue drives in it. I don’t know the exact model’s off hand, but they are earlier model drives that are hybrid Blu-ray and HD DVD, as well as SD DVD. We have other equipment that we use for our main duplication, and try to reserve these for Blu-ray only, but we have burned SD DVDs on it without any problem and have been quite happy with it. I purchased it through The Tape Company (https://www.thetapecompany.com)
