Micro P2 and P2 media concerns on recent Panasonic P2 cams
PX-800G P2 media inconsistencies.
I’m not sure what Panasonic is doing but it’s odd that this camera doesn’t have native Micro P2 slot at all. At least put 1 slot in. Can’t do 2 because that will take away from their PX5000 dual Miro P2 slots.
Their 1/3″ PX-270 has only a single P2 slot. Forget spanning on this cam on full size P2 card. Sadly this is a huge purchasing decision on my part and I have to stick with the older HPX-250s.
Their AG-MSU10 will not accept Micro P2 adaptor. Only full size P2.
Micro P2 is a pain in the neck in the field. They are extremely prone to being lost if you’re not careful. I prefer the business card size P2.
Whatever it is, I think this PX-800G model is telling us that P2 media is not being discontinued. I was a bit shaken when the PX-270 came out with only a single P2 slot.
