  MetaLan Question for Mr. Zelin

  Thanks for sharing your research/article on building an affordable SAN with everyone. I think it sounds like a great solution for many small companies.

  I’ve got a question about it’s performance when dealing with multi-platform (Windows/Mac) and DPX sequences. I know that bandwidth isn’t going to allow for playing the files back, but I’m hoping that it has good enough performance to move files around?

  I’ve been trying to find a decent way to manage a folder with 30,000 DPX files between Mac and Windows and everything I’ve found so far has been less than ideal (takes forever just to load the folder contents!)

  I’m just wondering if you have any idea on how a MetaLan setup would handle thousands of DPX files.
