  • Metadata linking from “File” to “Clip”

I tried to post this on the Adobe forums but got nothing, is there a metadata genius on the cow?

I added some “Clip” metadata to a ton of files in Premiere without the “metadata linking” option applied.

It seems like turning the metadata linking option ON does not automatically add the text already entered to the “File” metadata. Deleting the text, then adding it again seems to work.

Since I have about 3000 clips, is there an easy way to automatically link metadata already entered?

    hope i’m clear enough…
    Thanks

How many unique entries did you make?

They’re not unique, but specific shots are identified. I did this so I could create a search bin to have the specific shots show up as search results.

The problem is, I broke the main project in 20 (episodic show) and added metadata on the episode project.

Now doing a search in the main project doesn’t show any results.

I hope what I’m saying makes sense.
    Thanks for your help.
