  Metabones Speed Booster – How does it work?

  So, I think I may have broken my speed booster Ultra when I tried to update the firmware. I didn’t detach it from the lens (Canon EF) before plugging it into the computer. The software will not detect that the speed booster is connected, even after I detached it from the lens and tried several different micro USB cables. Now the IS function doesn’t work when I go to use it on my original camera.

  I can’t find any troubleshooting questions out there that explain why you shouldn’t have your lens attached when you plug it in. Does anyone understand why this is the case? Maybe that knowledge would be the first step to fixing it.
