messy Icon View in Finder
When I move files from one folder to another, in Icon View, the files all land more or less in one clump and I often have to go to View/Arrange By/Name to see their names.
Is there a preference somewhere for files to arrange themselves neatly?

When in finder go to view in the menu bar then go to show view options and change the arrange by settings.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
