Hi, I have a video with chapters that I archived as a Quicktime MOV file. I just noticed that some how the chapters are messed up. Hand brake shows I have way more chapters than there should be, with 0 Frame durations. If QuickTime Pro still worked, I know how to edit the chapters there, but QT is obsolete. Ive tried using Lossless Cut to delete the rubbish and make new chapters, but cant get any results that make sense. What else can I try that doesn’t require a re-encode to address a corrupt chapter file? Is ffmpeg the only way to do this?

    Hey Dan,

You mention “Archived” file, which suggest that it is an older file.

Unless you have text file with the Chapter markers in (?) you might find it a longwinded way to edit them on the current file.

My advice is to pop your video file on a time-line in PPro, and redo the chapters.

I have just found this tutorial that is really easy to use on how to make Chapter Markers:

And although the Export window has changed, there is options to export a file with Chapter Markers.

    Hope that this helps.
