Meridien Codec for Intel Mac?
So do I understand this correctly? AVID comes out with an Intel Mac version of XPress Pro, but I am still unable to export Quicktime files with Meridien compression because there is no codec available yet?
This is quite important to me. I have to deliver PAL 3:1 Meridien Quicktime files to a client and so far no matter what editing software i run on my MacBook Pro I have to take the work to a PC for the final product. Is there another solution? (Running Quicktime via Rosetta does not work)

unfortunately after i run the codecs installer avid codecs do not appear in the quicktime dialogue or the compressor. Do you have any experience with it?

I installed the codecs from the Avid site on my plain Macbook and QT pro shows that I can select the meridien codec. Go look at the latest downloads, there are intel codecs posted.

did you just run the installer or did you do something else?

something strange…
working on a mac pro and I was waiting for the right codecs
because installing didn’t seem to make codecs available in QT.
playing around duplicated the codecs from :Library/Quicktime into :System/Library/Quicktime
and suddenly they work from within Quicktime and After Effects, Exporting and reading!!!
Isn’t that weird? -

“Here are the latest codecs used with Xpress Pro 5.5.3, Media Composer 2.5.3, and Newscutter 6.5.3”
So what about codecs for Intel Macs? ver. 2.7 MC
