merging files with layers intact
Hello,
(Googling hasn’t turned up an explanation of how to do this…)I’m rendering some video sequences from a 3d app. My sequences are of two general types: “content”, and “fog.” In other words, I’m rendering my fog and my content separately. Both sets are sequences of image files, both contain multiple layers, and the compositing mode of the layer is important.
I’d like to automate merging my fog files (fog1.psd, fog2.psd, etc) with my content files (stuff1.psd, stuff2.psd, etc), while keeping the layers and the compositing modes.
I’m using CS 2, OS X 10.5.5 (If this is much easier in more recent CS versions, that’d be helpful to know as well.)

Make a new layer
Place on top of stack
Hold don Option/Alt
Choose Merge Visible(See the alpha channel action – in Video Action Set – and modify if you want to use in batch)
