Is it possible to merge clips in FCP and deliver the project to the sound editors without it being a huge problem (because of the audio file name change) or do I need to keep the media files separate and only link them in the timeline? Thanks!

I don’t think this would cause a problem because it doesn’t effect your actual media files just the final cut pro clip name. Thats what i’m doing anyway. I was just about to post a question about mergeing clips when i saw this. My question is this- i’m mergeing four track audio with video that already has two track reference audio that was recorded onto the camera. When i merge it adds the new tracks to the existing ones and there are now six tracks of audio. I want to know if there is a setting that can be changed so that the new tracks overwrite the reference tracks instead so i don’t have to go through and manually remove the reference tracks after i synch.
