  merging ALE

  What are the rules for merging an ALE?

  I am relinking to raw F55 files for a show cut by another editor, with the files prepped by a third person in Resolve.

  Unfortunately, despite the workflow guide, the third person failed on several occasions to properly assign the reel numbers in Resolve. I know have episode with several shots not knowing where the source files is coming from. The clip names have all been changed during the edit, and it doesn’t appear this information was stored anywhere.

  I can recreate the original Resolve projects (1 for each days shoot) and export an ALE, assigning source file information into the Name Column, and changing the Tape column into a Name column, but if having an issue merging that ALE into the Avid bins. If I bring it into a new bin, and manually copy/paste the Source file info into the original bin, everything will relink…but there are a ton of clips.

  As far as I know, there is no way of copying info from 1 bin to another.

  any suggestions?
