I have a Vegas project that I had completed last summer. When opening the .veg file it opens my project but the all the video tracks are merged into one and the same with the multiple audio tracks. This has happened on at least one other project.

Now I’m stuck wanting to make some further edits but it appears I’m needing to start all over again!

When I finished the video I had rendered it as mpeg2. Does saving the project after rendering alter these tracks?

I’m using Vegas 7 and I open my projects via the .veg file in Windows Explorer and not by opening Vegas first.

    Thanks,
    Barry

Starting up Vegas first and then opening the veg file will give you all your original tracks so I’m not sure why you wouldn’t do it this way.
If you want to do it your way, right-click on the veg file and select “Edit in Vegas”.
This opens a new instance of Vegas with all tracks as they originally were.
