I just finished syncing the dailies of a feature film using Premiere’s Merge Clip option. I haven’t cut anything yet, but (while looking for something else), came across forums of all of these problems that people are having with exporting timelines with merged clips on them. Everything from XMLs to OMFs.

Is this still a problem? I didn’t see any solutions. Would it help if I erased the ” – Merged” after each clip before I start editing?

If no solution does that mean I have to start syncing over? If so, what would be the best way to do it?Pluraleyes isn’t an option because I’m using 5K Red Footage. In the most recent version I can import Red footage (one clip at a time), and I can hear it but can’t see it. Any help would be appreciated!

Did you ever get an answer to this? If merged clips are still problematic, how are all these big films being cut in Premiere these days getting around it?
