    hello,

i’m trying to create a logo so it looks like it’s done in mercury. i’m having problems creating the model. i only need a still of it. i’ve tried a simple bevel but as the type is of different width then there’s always a flat top and i need it all round so it looks like it’s got surface tension. also tried sweep and scaling the profile, but not having much luck with making it precise enough.

has anyone got any suggestions. not having much luck.

    thanks
    anders

This is hard to do in 3D. Since it’s a still you might consider doing it in PS. Otherwise, you could try extruding the text with relatively dense caps (quad/regular grid option) and apply soft body dynamics with the pressure option. That will give you something that looks like beachball letters.

another possibility to just bulge the front out is to use cloth (the letter shape remains the same that way though – just the cap bulges)
